john@companyoffools.org John Glenn (Core Company Artist) is an original Company member with over 25 years in the professional theatre. He has directed our productions of The Philadelphia Story, A Christmas Carol, Side Man, The Pied Piper, Dinner with Friends, Always...Patsy Cline, The Laramie Project, The Tempest and Shirley Valentine. During his five years as Artistic Director at Barksdale Theatre in Richmond, Virginia, he produced over 50 shows and directed shows that include Molly Sweeney, Once on This Island, Falsettos and the world premiere of the Charles Strouse/ Sammy Cahn musical Bojangles. Prior to his time at Barksdale, John spent ten years as the Associate Artistic Director of Theatre IV, the nation’s second largest touring theatre for children. While at Theatre IV, he directed the world premiere of Four Part Harmony as well as productions of The Rainmaker, Cotton Patch Gospel, Is There Life After High School?, two award winning productions of Quilters and over 60 productions for children that have been seen throughout the country. John also directed the Charles Strouse opera Nightingale for the James River Chamber Opera and spent five summers enjoying the challenges and thrills of working in outdoor theatre at Richmond’s Dogwood Dell. His shows at Dogwood Dell include award winning productions of Evita, Baby, Working and Sunday in the Park With George. Throughout 2000, John toured the country with John Davidson’s one man show, Bully, an adventure with Theodore Roosevelt! And recently he directed productions ofThe Sound of Music, Once on this Island, The Music Man and Oliver for Mill Mountain Theatre. |
